Sterilization For Sanitation

Sterilization is a process of removal of all the micro-organisms, known or unknown to attain a sanitised and clean environment. In a practice like dentistry, since most of the instruments are reusable and are used in a way that they come in contact with blood and saliva, sterilisation becomes a priority to maintain healthy environment for the practitioners as well as the patients. Strict sterilization is utterly important nowadays due to increased resistant microbes and infection and is mandatory to ensure all the instruments and equipment are 100% sterile.

Cleaning

Mechanical means of instrument cleaning in place of hand scrubbing is followed. In any procedures wherein hand scrubbing is required, utility gloves, gown, mask and eye wear is worn for the disinfectant cleaning as well as cleaner’s health.

Ultrasonic Cleaning

Ultrasonic cleaner uses sound waves that that form oscillating bubbles, called cavitation process which thoroughly cleans the instruments eliminating any blood, tissue or debris.

Peroxide cleaning

Followed up with the ultrasonic cleaning, instruments are then washed in the peroxide solution for 100% disinfection.

Autoclaving and drying

Instruments are completely cleaned for any micro remainders and dried in the instrument dryer equipment.

Packaging

Finally the instruments are packed for the reuse. Unless otherwise detailed, all packaging is single use only.
